Dear Glee:
Please, please, pleeeease stop the overproduction of every. single. thing. that is sung.
It’s maybe your biggest flaw.
Completely agreed. I really like the great writing possibilities in the show (such as last week’s Ryan Murphy-written “Wheels” episode), but the over-sweetened, studio produced musical numbers are way too much. The production numbers would have a much greater authenticity were they recorded live on stage, rather than meticulously crafted in a recording studio. Secondly, I’d also appreciate NOT having the episode’s “message” shoved down my throat - I get it, I get it, this is an episode about equality/friendship/bonding/whatever, I get it. If someone could pass along my professional notes to the powers that be, that’d be great. Also, call me if they need someone to provide notes like these in a staff position. Thanks.
